Which are the requirements to run the ‘PDFSigner Web’?
The requirements are as follows:
- Internet connection availability.
- An internet browser (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari for Mac OS, etc.).
- Exportable Digital Certificate file (.PFX)(If required by the tool. This will depend on the organization to who you belong to).
- The PDF document to be Digitally Signed or Certified cannot be bigger than 100 MB.
Are there any other features included in the ‘PDFSigner Web’?
Yes. The “PDFSigner Web” also:
- Requires a login process which asks for the DTE, LLC account username and password for a secure use.
- Asks for the digital certificate password for confirmation before signing or certifying a document.
- Attach an image with your digital certificate. This feature can be turned on or off. If turned off, the tool will use a visual text reference.(Not all users have an image assigned. The visual text reference will be used. This depends on the organization you belong to).
- Choose any of the four corners of the document to place the visual reference.
- Offers the option of placing the visual reference in the first page, last page, or in all pages.
- Has a simple interface, which is easy to use and understand.
Does the ‘PDFSigner Web’ tool digitally sign or certify any additional file formats other than PDF?
No. The “PDFSigner Web” only digitally sign or certifies PDF file format documents.
What is the ‘PDFSigner Application’ for?
The PDFSigner Application is a platform based application which enables professionals to ONLY digitally certify a document, and to simultaneously add a visual reference. This application is available for download to selected professionals.
Which are the requirements to run the ‘PDFSigner Application’?
The requirements are:
- Windows 7 | 8.1 | 10 Operating Systems.
- Run first the PFXConfigCreator file first to configure your tool with your digital certificate.
- Have installed in your computer Microsoft .NET Framework 4 or higher.This component is usually installed on the Windows 7 operating system. If not, Windows 7 may require the installation, by downloading this component from the Microsoft website. Windows 8.1 or 10 may need this component. The system will notify you to perform this task by downloading and installing it for you.
Are there any other features included in the ‘PDFSigner Application’?
Yes. The “PDFSigner Application” also:
- Is a highly portable application, which can also be used from any portable memory hardware device, such as a USB Drive.
- Allows the visual reference to be placed in any of the four corners of the sheet.
- Offers the opportunity to switch the visual reference between a general information box or use an image, such as the seal.
- Brings the freedom to choose which image, to be used as a visual reference, when Digitally Certifying a document.
- Has the availability of using, and identifying several image formats, including PNG.
- Gives the option of placing the visual reference in the first page, last page, or in all pages.
- Requires entering the username and password every time a document is being Digitally Certified.
- Simplifies the Digital Certification process, by allowing the user to save the username and password when digitally certifying multiple documents.

Does the ‘PDFSigner Application’ digitally certify any additional file formats other than PDF files?
No. The “PDFSigner Application” only digitally certifies PDF file format documents.
What is the ‘PFXConfigCreator’ for?
The PFXConfigCreator is an installation and update tool for the PDFSigner Application, and the CertificateAccess program.
Which are the requirements to run the ‘PFXConfigCreator’?
The requirements are as follows:
- Internet connection available.
- Windows 7 | 8.1 | 10 Operating System.
- Have installed in your computer “Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Standalone” (which includes “Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile”, and “Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Extended”).
- For some users, the digital certificate must have to be already installed in the computer.
Are there any other features included in the PFXConfigCreator?
Yes. The PFXConfigCreator also:
- Creates a seal image with your name, the Board of Examiners (Department of State’s) professional license expiration date, professional license number, and professional license TYPE.
- Requires a login process which asks for the DTE, LLC account username and password.
- Has a simple interface, which is easy to use and understand.
- Enables the use of the PDFSigner Application and the CertificateAccess programs.
What is the CertificateAccess program for?
The CertificateAccess program is a protection layer added to PFX files, which requires typing the correct username, password, and PIN, in order to grant access to the installation process for the contained PFX file (or Digital Certificate).
Which are the requirements to run the CertificateAccess program?
The requirements are as follows:
- Windows 7 | 8.1 | 10 Operating System.
- Have installed in your computer “Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Standalone” (which includes “Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile”, and “Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Extended”).
- Executed the PFXConfigCreator application first.
Does the CertificateAccess digitally certify any file formats?
No. The CertificateAccess program is only a protection shell that restricts the installation of the Digital Certificate, and it should not be mistaken for a Digital Certification tool.
